RE-ACTIVE SUSPENSION, INC.
Snowmobile Suspension
All major snowmobile suspension suppliers recommend that their shocks be serviced at least once a year. The reason for this is due to the snowmobiles operating environment. Though the suspension fluid does break down over time due to the constant shearing of the oil as it passes through the shock valving, it is the low ambient temperature that is the biggest culprit. Through the normal course of use ice will inevitably form on the shock shaft, when the shock compresses this ice will pass the wiper and seal assembly and be deposited inside the shock thus contaminating the suspension fluid. Over time the damping medium is corrupted becoming an aqueous solution with reduced shear strength, viscosity and lubricating properties.

This breakdown in the suspension fluid happens so slowly as to be almost imperceptible. Generally, after having your suspension serviced you will immediately notice the increase in performance. In addition there is the added benefit of extended life in the suspension component itself.
